Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) participated in Arqaam Capital Investors Conference 2014 which took place at Meydan Hotel in Dubai on 22nd -23rd of September. The conference brings together senior management of GCC and Africa listed companies with institutional investors across a series of one-to-one meetings.
ADX's Chief Executive Mr. Rashed Al Balooshi represented the exchange at the event along with other prominent figures from the UAE and the region.
Al Balooshi participated in a panel discussion about deregulation and foreign ownership levels. He also spoke of how ADX plans to help drive future of IPO pipeline and about the opportunities offered by ADX for local and foreign investors.
"We are happy to partake at this event, as we are at the heart of the financial developments in the region, and we constantly aim to increase the flow of foreign investments to the emirate and the country," commented ADX's Chief Executive.
The conference discussed a number of significant issues including asset management developments in the GCC, aligning trading and settlement to international accounts as well as areas of collaboration between exchanges in the region.
Al Baloushi also spoke of the positive economic aspects for Abu Dhabi, providing a comprehensive picture about the investment opportunities and potentials that remain to be among the most promising of all emerging markets especially after the upgrade of ADX to Emerging Market status by both MSCI and S&P Dow Jones.
“The upgrade of ADX by the Standard and Poor’s and MSCI will bring greater long-term capital inflows from foreign investors, leading to more depth in the market. It will put us on the radar of global investors and secure liquidity for our market.” Said Al Balooshi.
