Banks Sector Surges After Fed Stress Test - STOXX Research, Commented By Jan-Carl Plagge, Head Of Applied Research, STOXX Ltd.
After Mario Draghi’s comments regarding the potential end to the ECB’s unprecedented monetary stimulus, which has taken the form of negative interest rates and 60 billion euros a month of quantitative easing, global financial markets were in slight decline in June. On the contrary, the banks sector overall saw a tremendous performance increase in the past month after Fed’s annual stress test which all banks have passed for the first time after it was implemented in the wake of the financial crisis.

Citywire has won the Funds Industry Football Charity Shield five-a-side tournament beating Northern Trust 2-1 in the final game held at Powerleague in Shoreditch, London yesterday. The Charity Shield, which is now in its seventh year, is hosted by Calastone, the global funds transaction network, and has raised over £72,000 since its inception. The fundraising from this year’s event will add a fantastic £10,500 to that total.

Dalian Commodity Exchange, China Construction Bank Renew Strategic Cooperation Agreement
On June 22, Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) and China Construction Bank (CCB) renewed the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement in Dalian. Attending the signing ceremony were DCE chairman Li Zhengqiang, DCE CEO Wang Fenghai, Zhang Gengsheng, executive director and vice president of the head office of CCB, and representatives of both sides. DCE and CCB inked the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement" in Beijing in 2014. Since then the two sides have carried out cooperation in futures margins depository management, the internationalization of the iron ore futures, futures asset management, bank pledge financing by standard warehouse receipts and other fields, having achieved significant results. Over the past three years, the two sides have conducted special research in internationalization of the iron ore futures, joined hands with CCB International to organize the iron ore futures information exchange sessions for overseas investors, and completed the cooperative upgrading and testing for the iron ore futures internationalization system. The CCB was also one of the earliest banks to provide the DCE with the pledge financing service with standard warehouse receipts, and accomplished DCE’s first standard warehouse receipt financing business.

I want to talk tonight about labor productivity growth. Labor productivity is the amount of goods and services produced per hour spent on the job. Increases in labor productivity--again, that's the amount of goods and services produced per hour on the job--are a fundamental factor in determining how fast the economy grows, and how fast the average standard of living grows. And productivity growth can be influenced by government policy, about which I also want to say a few words.
