Thai Institute Of Directors Association (IOD): Listed Companies Mark Solid CG Scores Despite More Demanding Criteria To Meet ASEAN Standard
The Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD), with support from the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Wednesday released CGR scores of 550 listed companies in Thailand at an average of 72%, which is considered satisfactory despite application of more demanding criteria to meet the ASEAN CG Scorecard standard. The solid performance reflected value of corporate governance development cherished by Thai listed companies in order to bolster sustainable growth and boost confidences among domestic and international investors.

BGC Partners Commences Cash Tender Offer To Acquire GFI Group For $5.25 Per Share - BGC's Offer Provides Superior Value And Immediate Liquidity To GFI Group Shareholders
BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: BGCP) ("BGC Partners," "BGC," or "the Company"), a leading global brokerage company primarily servicing the financial and real estate markets, today announced it has commenced a fully-financed tender offer to acquire all of the outstanding common shares of GFI Group Inc. (NYSE: GFIG) ("GFI Group" or "GFI") it does not currently own for $5.25 per share in cash. BGC currently owns 13.5% of GFI's outstanding shares.

SIFMA Statement On Final Risk Retention Rule
SIFMA today issued the following statement from Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr., SIFMA president and CEO, on the final risk retention rule announced today by regulators:
"The finalization of the credit risk retention rules will help clarify the regulatory 'rules of the road' for securitization. This will bring some relief to the regulatory uncertainty that has been a negative factor in the recovery of non-government guaranteed mortgage securitization. We are pleased that the regulators finalized the adherence of the QRM definition to the CFPB's QM definition, which is a path SIFMA supported in its 2013 comments."

CFTC And Manitoba Securities Commission Sign Counterpart To Memorandum Of Understanding To Enhance Supervision Of Cross-Border Regulated Entities
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that CFTC Chairman Tim Massad and Donald Murray, Chair of the Manitoba Securities Commission (MSC), have signed a Counterpart to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on March 25, 2014, regarding cooperation and the exchange of information in the supervision and oversight of regulated entities that operate on a cross-border basis in the United States and in certain Canadian provinces. The MOU, originally signed by four other Canadian authorities, included a provision for additional Canadian authorities to become parties to the MOU. The CFTC and MSC have executed the Counterpart in order for the MSC to join the MOU.

National Security Division Announces New Senior Leadership Hires And Restructuring Of Counterespionage Efforts - Moves Allow NSD To Continue Focus On Today’s Threats While Positioning For Tomorrow’s Challenges
John P. Carlin, the Assistant Attorney General for National Security, announced strategic changes within the Justice Department’s National Security Division (NSD) designed to put additional focus on the protection of national assets from the threat of state-sponsored economic espionage and proliferation, including through cyberspace. The announcement included new appointments within the NSD’s senior leadership, the creation of a new Deputy Assistant Attorney General Position focusing on protecting national assets and the re-designation of the Anti-Terrorism and Advisory Council (ATAC) Coordinator program as the National Security Coordinator/ATAC program, to better reflect its ongoing work on the full range of national security threats, and to empower United States Attorneys as they conduct outreach on these issues nationwide.
