The ASEAN Exchanges Chief Executive Officers convened this past weekend in Hanoi at the 25th ASEAN Exchanges CEOs meeting to further strengthen the ASEAN Asset Class and continue building cross border broker partnerships with the 3rd ASEAN Broker Networking on 8th October 2016.
Speaking on behalf of ASEAN Exchanges, Nguyen Thi Hoang Lan, Acting CEO of Hanoi Stock Exchange said, “This is the 3rd ASEAN Broker Networking and it has been our largest so far. As the ASEAN Asset Class has become more familiar with regional markets, we are finding that interest levels to create cross border partnerships have risen tremendously. Gaining understanding of a new market takes time, but the high turnout amongst brokers this weekend has proven that interest in ASEAN investing is indeed gaining ground.”
Nguyen Thi Hoang Lan continued, “We were delighted that Laos, Cambodian and Myanmar Exchanges were able to join us for the ASEAN Exchanges CEOs meeting as it further reaffirmed the commitment for capital market development in the ASEAN region. In line with this, the ASEAN Exchanges CEOs were unanimous in their support of the regulators’ driven ASEAN Capital Market Forum Action Plan 2016-2020 which calls for an even more inter-connected, inclusive and resilient ASEAN Capital Market.”
